New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a Red Warning for strong winds and rough seas for multi-day boats operating in the deep-sea areas of the Bay of Bengal.



The Deep Depression over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal was located near latitude 18.0N and longitude 84.7E as of 5:30 a.m. today (23).



The system is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross the coastal areas of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha, India, during tonight, according to the Department of Meteorology.



Wind speeds in the sea areas marked under the "Warning" category may increase to 70 kmph at times. Heavy thundershowers can occur, and sea conditions in these areas will become very rough.
