Mumbai, Feb. 11 -- The Rupee on Monday moved up by Eight paise at 71.22 against the US Dollar in early trade on fresh selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at forex market said.

Weak dollar against other currencies overseas and foreign capital inflows in the domestic equity markets supported the rupee, but a lower opening of the domestic equity market capped the gains.

A minor fluctuation was seen in the local unit as it recorded intra day high and low at 71.30 and 71.16 respectively, they added. On Friday, the rupee had ended 15 paise higher at 71.30 against the US dollar. UNI JS SB 1157
