Kasaragod, Feb. 19 -- The CPI(M) on Tuesday expelled its Periya Local Committe(LC) member A Peethambaran, accused in the Periya double murder case, from its primary membership. The district committee of the CPI (M) announced its decision consequent to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) arresting Peethambaran on charges of conspiring the murder of the two youth congress workers - Kripesh and Sarath Lal, on Sunday night. The Congress as well as the relatives of the victims had accused the involvement of the CPI(M) behind their brutal killing for political vendeta.
