New Delhi, Jan. 7 -- Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claims of creating more jobs have been "proved completely hollow" by the Centre for Monitoring of Indian Economy (CMIE), the Shiv Sena on Monday asked him to stop making a 'jumla' (joke) of the jobless millions in the country.

Referring to Modi's statement in an interview last week that seven million jobs were created in the organised sector and many more in the unorganised sectors, the Sena said the CMIE's latest figures have punctured the Prime Minister's claims.

"Last year, nearly 11 million people, mostly workers, lost their jobs with the rural areas taking the biggest brunt. From these 11 million, nearly 6.50 million are women," the Sena said in editorials in the party ...
