Afghanistan, Jan. 8 -- The acting minister of defense Asadullah Khalid and commander of the NATO-led Resolute Support and U.S. forces in Afghanistan General Scott Miller visited northern Faryab province on Monday to review the situation of the province.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said the defense officials reviewed the security situation of the province and ongoing offensive against the terrorist groups.

Khalid said the National Defense and Security Forces had considerable and tangible achievements in suppressing the terrorists in this province by inflicting heavy casualties on the militants and their leaders.
