Russian woman sentenced for lying about spy ties and harassing FBI agent
Bangladesh, June 14 -- A Russian woman accused of concealing her connections to Russian intelligence and participating in criminal activities in the United States has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison, concluding a case that has drawn attention because of its links to alleged foreign influence operations and the harassment of a federal investigator.
Nomma Zarubina, 35, was sentenced by United States District Judge Laura Taylor Swain in Manhattan after pleading guilty to charges related to making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and committing naturalization fraud.
