Bangladesh, Sept. 9 -- Iran appears to have entered its latest confrontation with the Gulf expecting a familiar outcome: pressure on individual Arab states would expose their differences, weaken their willingness to cooperate, and prevent them from forming a meaningful regional response. Instead, Tehrans widening campaign may be producing the opposite result.

Since launching attacks across the region on Feb. 28, Iran has steadily expanded the geographical scope of its strikes, drawing an increasingly large number of Arab states into a conflict they had previously tried to avoid.
