While European law enforcement agencies have achieved significant successes in disrupting many of the continents most dangerous criminal organizations, new evidence from Europol suggests that criminal enterprises are evolving just as quickly as authorities can dismantle them. Rather than disappearing, these networks are regenerating, adapting to changing circumstances and exploiting new opportunities created by globalization, digital technology and legitimate business structures.
