Bangladesh, May 6 -- Chinas announcement of zero-tariff treatment for 53 African countries with diplomatic ties marks a significant development in global trade policy. Beginning May 1, the initiative positions China as the first major economy to extend comprehensive unilateral tariff elimination to all African countries maintaining diplomatic relations, as well as to least developed countries with similar ties.
