Bangladesh, Sept. 17 -- The arrest of Igor Grechushkin in Bulgaria earlier this month has breathed new life into the long-stalled investigation into the devastating 2020 Beirut port explosion, one of the deadliest non-nuclear blasts in modern history. For years, questions of accountability have swirled around the catastrophic detonation of nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, which leveled much of Beiruts port and surrounding neighborhoods, killing more than 200 people and injuring thousands more. Now, with Grechushkin in custody, pressure is once again mounting on Lebanese authorities to deliver justice.
