India, Aug. 10 -- Finnish connectivity company Wirepas has crossed 12 million smart electricity meters connected through its RF mesh technology in India, making the country its largest deployment worldwide.

The milestone also puts Wirepas connectivity behind around 20% of India's smart electricity meters, according to the company. India now accounts for more Wirepas-connected smart meters than the rest of the world combined.

The company's deployment in India has expanded rapidly over the past three years. Wirepas crossed one million connected meters in December 2023, followed by five million in early 2025 and 10 million before the end of 2025. The installed base has now exceeded 12 million.
