India, Aug. 13 -- Sabesp, the water and sanitation company of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, is deploying what it describes as the world's largest IoT connectivity project for smart water management.

The 14-year project is being implemented in partnership with Telefónica/Vivo and IDEMIA Secure Transactions (IST). It will connect 4.4 million smart water meters across São Paulo City and São Jose dos Campos.

Under Sabesp's technical architecture and requirements, Vivo's connectivity infrastructure will be combined with IDEMIA Secure Transactions' eSIM IoT technology. The connected metering network is intended to help Sabesp improve water distribution management, monitor consumption and detect leaks more quickly.
