India, July 17 -- VIAVI Solutions has been awarded EUR 1.1 million in funding through the European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) and Horizon Europe programmes to support research into cybersecurity technologies for future 6G networks.

The funding will contribute to the SHIELD-6G project, a European initiative focused on developing an artificial intelligence-driven Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) platform designed to improve security, orchestration and regulatory compliance in next-generation mobile networks.

As the telecommunications industry begins early-stage 6G development, network security is becoming a central area of focus for operators, enterprises and governments.
