India, Aug. 5 -- Thales has launched Luna 8, a new hardware security module (HSM) designed to help organisations protect cryptographic keys and prepare for the transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

The launch comes as organisations assess the potential impact of quantum computing on existing encryption systems. According to the 2026 Thales Data Threat Report, 61% of organisations in India and 59% globally said they are prototyping or evaluating PQC algorithms. The report also identified 'Harvest Now, Decrypt Later' (HNDL) attacks as the most frequently cited quantum-related risk.
