India, Sept. 1 -- Nvidia and MediaTek are expanding their longstanding semiconductor collaboration across three areas of AI computing: data-centre infrastructure, local AI systems and automotive platforms.

The expanded partnership will see MediaTek adopt Nvidia's NVLink Fusion platform, giving hyperscalers, cloud service providers and developers of large AI models a route to build custom accelerators, or XPUs, that can be integrated into Nvidia's NVLink-connected, rack-scale AI infrastructure.

The companies are combining Nvidia's accelerated computing, AI and software technologies with MediaTek's capabilities in custom silicon, system-on-chip (SoC) design, advanced packaging, interconnects and connectivity.
