India, Sept. 11 -- Nokia has launched a new platform that combines mission-critical communications, edge computing and operational artificial intelligence (AI) for field operations across mining, construction, public safety and defence.

Called Cognitive Operations (CO), the platform is designed to process data closer to where operations take place, bringing AI capabilities and communications infrastructure together in a deployable system. Nokia said the initial focus will be on environments where connectivity disruptions, delayed decision-making or equipment downtime can have significant operational consequences.
