India, June 22 -- India's largest telecom operator has crossed another major milestone in its 5G journey, but the bigger story may be what comes next.

Speaking at the 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries, Akash Ambani revealed that Reliance Jio now has more than 268 million 5G users, following the addition of 77 million subscribers during FY26. The figure means that roughly one in every two Jio customers is already using the company's next-generation mobile network.
