India, Oct. 28 -- Reliance Jio added 2.71 million subscribers during the month, taking its mobile subscriber base to 511.14 million. Bharti Airtel added 2.69 million, bringing its total to 494.29 million. The two operators recorded similar gains, maintaining their lead in India's mobile telecommunications market.

Jio held a 39.32% share of the wireless mobile subscriber base at the end of September, followed by Airtel at 38.02%. Vodafone Idea (Vi) accounted for 15.39%, while state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) held 7.26%, according to TRAI data.
