India, Sept. 10 -- Infineon Technologies and SolarEdge Technologies have expanded their collaboration to develop solid-state circuit breaker (SSCB) technology for high-voltage direct-current (DC) power distribution in AI and hyperscale data centres.

The companies are targeting a key protection challenge associated with the adoption of 800 VDC architectures, where increasing power density requires faster fault isolation to protect equipment and maintain selectivity across the power distribution system.

Under the extended collaboration, SolarEdge is leading the development of the SSCB solution, while Infineon is supplying silicon carbide (SiC) JFET technology for the protection devices.
