India, May 1 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in the presence of Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia, is all set to launch a mobile-based disaster communication system on 2 May 2026. Developed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the Ministry of Communications in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the system is intended to enable the timely dissemination of critical information to citizens during emergencies.
