India's smartphone recommerce market shifts to premium devices
India, Sept. 2 -- India's refurbished smartphone market is entering a more mature phase, with higher-value devices gaining traction and newer smartphones reaching the secondary market earlier in their lifecycle, according to Cashify's latest report, The Great Indian Upgrade 2026.
The report, based on Cashify's platform data and independent consumer surveys, indicates that changing device economics are reshaping procurement, trade-in and asset-recovery strategies across the electronics ecosystem. As smartphone prices rise and replacement cycles evolve, manufacturers, retailers, enterprise buyers, financiers and recommerce platforms are reassessing how devices move through their first and subsequent ownership cycles.
