India, May 4 -- GalaxEye has launched Mission Drishti, which it describes as the world's first operational OptoSAR satellite. The mission marks a development in Earth observation technology and reflects India's growing activity in the space sector.

Weighing 190 kilograms, Mission Drishti is an Earth observation satellite developed by a private Indian company. It is the first satellite to combine Electro-Optical (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors on a single operational platform, enabling day-and-night, all-weather imaging. The combined system is intended to address some of the limitations of conventional observation systems by allowing data collection across different environmental conditions.
