India, Oct. 15 -- India ranks 40th among 98 countries in the AI-Human Skills Synergy Index featured in the Global Skills Report 2026, trailing several Asian economies in a measure combining AI-related learning activity and government readiness.

The findings come amid rising global interest in AI security, agentic workflows and AI development frameworks, technical capabilities increasingly relevant to enterprises building, deploying and managing AI systems.

The report placed Japan third globally, followed by Singapore at 10th, Indonesia at 29th, Malaysia at 36th and Vietnam at 38th. Germany topped the index, followed by France.
