India, Aug. 29 -- India added 5.54 million mobile subscribers in July 2026, taking the country's wireless mobile base to 1.288 billion, while machine-to-machine (M2M) cellular connections rose by nearly 3 million during the month to 137.70 million.

The mobile subscriber base increased from 1.282 billion at the end of June to 1.288 billion at the end of July, registering monthly growth of 0.43%, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
