India, May 20 -- Cisco has released new research from Splunk highlighting the growing financial impact of unplanned downtime on large enterprises. According toThe Hidden Costs of Downtime report, conducted in partnership with Oxford Economics, the annual aggregate cost of unplanned downtime for Global 2000 companies has risen to USD 600 billion, marking a 50% increase over the past two years.

The study found that the financial impact of outages has become increasingly significant, affecting revenue, operations, customer relationships and market confidence. On average, organisations are estimated to lose USD 95 million in annual revenue due to downtime, nearly double the level reported in 2024.
