India, April 23 -- Amid rising geopolitical tensions and the growing importance of space in modern warfare, India's senior defence and space leadership highlighted the need to develop resilient, sovereign and integrated space capabilities at the Indian Defence Space Symposium (IDS) 2026. The two-day event, organised by the Indian Space Association (ISpA), commenced in New Delhi with a focus on strengthening coordination between the country's defence and space sectors. It brought together representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces, the Defence Space Agency, public sector undertakings, start-ups and industry.
