India, July 17 -- State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has placed orders for 19,099 additional 4G sites as it accelerates the expansion of its indigenous mobile network across India.

The contracts, valued at approximately Rs 3,033 crore, have been awarded to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and state-run telecom equipment manufacturer ITI under the latest phase of BSNL's 4G deployment programme.

According to BSNL, the purchase order covers the planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of new 4G network sites in the North-East and South zones, including the Delhi Licensed Service Area (LSA), under the Phase IX.2 add-on project.
