India, June 16 -- The Broadband India Forum (BIF) has welcomed the Government's decision to delicense 30 MHz of spectrum in the globally harmonised 5.9 GHz band for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications, describing it as an important step towards improving road safety and supporting the development of connected mobility technologies in India.

The decision by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), in coordination with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), aligns India with internationally recognised standards for intelligent transportation systems and vehicular communications.
