India, Sept. 25 -- Akamai Technologies has entered into a USD 11.6 billion, seven-year contractual commitment with Anthropic to provide dedicated cloud computing capacity and related managed services, expanding an existing relationship as the AI company scales its computing requirements.

The agreement, announced on 24 September, will use Akamai Cloud's distributed infrastructure and software to support Anthropic's growing CPU workload requirements. The companies can potentially expand the arrangement by a further USD 9 billion, taking the total potential commitment to about USD 20 billion.
