India, July 31 -- Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming engineering far beyond software development and also introducing new layers of complexity into the testing and validation of mission-critical systems across telecommunications, aerospace, defence, semiconductors, transportation, and industrial automation.

That was the central message from Emerson's test and measurement executives during NI Days India 2026 in Bengaluru, where the company outlined its roadmap for applying AI across engineering workflows and argued that test engineering will become even more important as products become increasingly software-defined.
