AI infrastructure forces a network rethink from GPU to edge
India, Aug. 26 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure is becoming a full-stack engineering problem. As GPU clusters grow denser and inference spreads closer to users and data, networking is increasingly being designed alongside compute rather than added later as a connectivity layer.
The shift is evident in Cisco's Tuesday announcement that it is expanding its Secure AI Factory with Nvidia to incorporate Supermicro rack-scale compute. The architecture brings high-density GPU systems together with front-end and back-end AI networking and spans workloads from large-model training to edge inference.
