Vietnam surge nine spots back into world Top 100
Hanoi, April 3 -- Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam's national football team surged nine places to 99th in the latest FIFA world rankings released after the March 2026 FIFA international window, marking the biggest jump of any team worldwide in this update.
The side coached by Kim Sang Sik climbed to 1,225.68 points, gaining 36.17 points from the previous ranking. The rise returns Vietnam to the global Top 100, a notable milestone for the national team.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nepal and Bhutan recorded the next-best improvements, each moving up six places. In contrast, Malaysia suffered the steepest fall, dropping 17 places to 138th and slipping to fifth in Southeast Asia after being overtaken by the Philippines national football team.
