Vietnam fertiliser exports jump as global supply tightens
Hanoi, July 22 -- Vietnam's fertiliser exports surged in the first half of 2026 as supply disruptions triggered by conflict in the Middle East tightened global markets and created new opportunities for domestic producers.
Customs data showed the country exported 1.7 million tonnes of fertiliser worth 933 million USD in the six-month period, marking year-on-year increases of 52% in volume and 107% in value.
Cambodia remained the largest buyer, importing more than 330,000 tonnes valued at 146 million USD. The Republic of Korea ranked second with nearly 149,000 tonnes worth 104 million USD, followed by the Philippines with 118,000 tonnes valued at 64 million USD, and Malaysia with 88,000 tonnes worth 49 million USD.
