Beijing, July 21 -- The ground forces of Vietnam and China are conducting their first joint training exercise in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from July 21 to 30.

The Chinese Ministry of National Defence said in a statement on July 20 that the exercise aims to enhance exchange of border management experiences while deepening practical cooperation between the two militaries.

According to the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of National Defence, over the recent past, the two sides have strengthened high-level exchanges and interactions, established a "3+3" strategic dialogue mechanism covering diplomacy, defence, and security, and conducted joint counterterrorism training.
