Tokyo, Aug. 13 -- Two Vietnamese men have saved two Japanese children in waters off Gotemba Beach in Mie prefecture after the youngsters were suddenly swept nearly 100 metres from shore and drifted about 700 metres along the coast by strong waves and winds. Upon witnessing the incident on August 11 afternoon, Pham Quoc Dat, 29, and Tong Manh Tuan, 27, immediately jumped into the sea to rescue them. At the time, strong winds and a rapidly receding tide were pushing the children further away. After two attempts, they successfully reached and rescued them.
