Bangkok, Feb. 26 -- The Royal Thai Police (RTP) has ordered heightened border security after detecting attempts by transnational scam syndicates to slip into Thailand to evade intensified crackdowns in neighbouring countries.
Foreign nationals linked to cross-border cyber fraud networks have increasingly attempted to enter Thailand illegally as authorities step up raids and prosecutions, Pol Maj Gen Jaturapat Piromkaew, commander of the Foreign Affairs Division and deputy spokesman for the RTP, said on February 25.
He added that in recent weeks, police have coordinated with immigration officials, the military, and local administrative agencies to tighten border controls and intercept illegal entrants.
