Hanoi, Oct. 20 -- Tropical storm Fengshen swept through the northern and central regions of the Philippines on October 19, causing severe damage, according to a report released on October 20 by the country's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). The fatalities included two females and five males, while one individual was reported injured and two remain missing. As many as 37,825 families, or 133,196 individuals, were affected by the storm across nine provinces and 35 cities and municipalities. At least 13,710 people were displaced, with 7,511 individuals staying in 166 evacuation centres and 6,199 sheltering elsewhere, the NDRRMC noted.
