Vientiane, March 23 -- The 10th National Assembly (NA) of Laos convened its first session in Vientiane on March 23, chaired by Politburo member and President of the ninth National Assembly Xaysomphon Phomvihane.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Xaysomphon Phomvihane said the session will consider and adopt a number of key national matters, including validation of deputies' mandates, election of senior state leaders, and approval of the country's 10th five-year socio-economic development plan for 2026-2030.
Lawmakers are also set to review, in principle, a railway project linking Thakhek township in Khammuon province with Mu Gia at the Laos-Vietnam border under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model, along with five-year operational plans ...
