Da Nang, April 2 -- The Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF)'s destroyer JS Asahi docked at Tien Sa Port on April 2, beginning a four-day goodwill visit to the central city of Da Nang. The ship, carrying more than 200 officers and crew members, is led by Colonel Jio Takemasa, Commander of JMSDF Escort Flotilla Two. At the welcome ceremony, representatives of Da Nang's administration presented flowers to welcome the visiting officers and crew. The visit is expected to contribute to strengthening friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, in line with efforts to advance the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was upgraded in November 2023.
