Jakarta, Dec. 22 -- The Indonesian National Police conducted comprehensive security sweeps across Jakarta on December 21, as part of a high-level initiative to ensure public safety ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays. The inspections targeted high-traffic public areas and crowded areas, including the Jakarta Cathedral, the Gambir central railway station, and the iconic National Monument (Monas), and the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout - a major city landmark and traditional gathering spot.
