Vientiane, Aug. 2 -- Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith has wrapped up an official visit that held great significance to the enhancement of his country's traditional relations with Russia. The visit from July 30 to August 1 was the first trip to Russia by President Thongloun Sisoulith since he took office. During the talks between the Lao leader and Russian President Vladimir Putin, they reviewed and highly valued their countries' bilateral and multilateral cooperation, saying the relationship is based on mutual understanding and support, along with the strategic partnership on security in the Asia-Pacific.
