Hanoi, Aug. 4 -- Robust domestic consumption and a thriving tourism sector continued to underpin Vietnam's economic growth in the last seven months, as retail sales, consumer services and international visitor arrivals posted strong growth, providing a solid foundation for further expansion in the months ahead.

According to the National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Finance, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in July were estimated at 669.1 trillion VND (over 25.45 billion USD), up 0.9% from June and 14.5% year-on-year.

For the January-July period, the figure reached an estimated 4.55 quadrillion VND, up 13.1% from the same period last year.
