Kuala Lumpur, Oct. 20 -- The Kuala Lumpur Declaration on more responsible use of social media is expected to be among the key documents adopted at the upcoming 47th ASEAN Summit, scheduled for October 26-28, according to Malaysian Minister of Communications Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Minister Fahmi said the draft Declaration had been discussed by ASEAN ministers responsible for information during their meeting in May 2024 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. During that meeting, most ministers agreed on the need for a unified regional strategy and concrete measures to address the growing challenges posed by social media.
