Hanoi, Dec. 14 -- ASEAN issued a Chair's Statement on December 13, expressing deep concern and strongly condemning the airstrike on Mrauk-U Hospital in Myanmar's Rakhine state, which killed at least 31 civilians and injured 76 others. The statement also reaffirmed the importance of the Five-Point Consensus in addressing the Myanmar issue. It said attacks targeting civilians and medical facilities, in violation of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions of 1949, are unacceptable and inconsistent with the principles enshrined in the ASEAN Charter.
