Tokyo, Oct. 18 -- Japanese retail giant Aeon and the Aeon 1% Club Foundation have announced financial support for Vietnamese communities affected by recent devastating storms.

On October 17, Watanabe Hiroyuki, Chairman of the Aeon 1% Club Foundation, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to present a cash donation equivalent to 50,000 USD to assist those impacted by Storms Bualoi and Matmo in Vietnam.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Watanabe expressed deep sympathy for the heavy human and material losses caused by the disasters, saying Aeon and its foundation, as a business operating in Vietnam, wish to contribute to post-disaster recovery and help affected residents stabilise their lives as soon as possible.
