Bangkok, Aug. 26 -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on August 25 said it has signed with GSA Data Centre 01 Company Limited (GSA) a loan of 900 million THB (about 27.8 million USD) to fund the development, construction, and operation of a 25.6-megawatt colocation green data centre in Thailand.
ADB Country Director for Thailand Anouj Mehta said that this is ADB's first lending in the data centre sector in Thailand, and in the region as well.
He said as the demand for digital services grows, it is crucial to prioritise energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in this sector to significantly reduce carbon footprint, support environmental goals, and pave the way for a greener, more resilient digital infrastructure.
