Bangkok, Dec. 15 -- Wushu athletes delivered a timely boost for Vietnam at the 33rd Southeast Asia (SEA) Games on December 15, securing two gold medals and ending the team's gold-medal drought on the sixth official competition day. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy claimed Vietnam's first gold of the day after defeating a Myanmar opponent in the women's 60kg sanda final. Competing under a three-round format, Thuy dominated from the outset and sealed a convincing victory in less than two minutes of the opening round due to a wide points gap. The wushu success continued as Truong Van Chuong earned gold in the men's 70kg sanda final, overpowering his Lao rival 2-0.
