New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- Biotech startup PeelON, wearable device maker Aether MindTech, and nutrition brand Ace Blend have secured funding in separate early-stage rounds, the companies said on Wednesday.
PeelON
PeelON has raised $1 million (Rs 8.8 crore) in a seed round led by deeptech-focused investor growX ventures, with participation from Boston Venture Group, Clean Energy Venture Group, and Climate Angels.
The Visakhapatnam-based startup, which specializes in biodegradable, compostable packaging for fresh produce, said it plans to use the capital to expand R&D and production facilities, hire across sales in the US and India, launch marketing campaigns, and pursue certifications and regulatory filings in different geographies.
Founded by plant biologist Taraka Ramji Moturu and microbiologist Venkata Ravi Sankar Ummidi, PeelON develops plant-based films that can extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables by up to 3x. Operating on a business-to-business (B2B) model, it works with farmers, exporters, and retailers to eliminate single-use plastics at every stage of the fresh produce supply chain.
Aether MindTech
Wearable device startup Aether MindTech has raised Rs 4.5 crore ($0.5 million) in a pre-Series A round, which saw participation from Anthill Angel Fund, investors associated with MeitY Startup Hub-backed companies, and family offices of Max Nemmers and Radhika Laxmikanth.
The startup's flagship wearable device, Evolv28, provides a non-invasive, drug-free solution designed to improve sleep quality, lower stress, and improve focus.
The company said it will use the funds to advance product innovation, expand clinical validation programs, pursue regulatory clearances in key markets, and scale distribution through strategic partnerships and digital channels.
Ace Blend
Nutrition brand Ace Blend has secured an undisclosed amount in a pre-Series A round from consumer-focused venture capital firm Fireside Ventures.
Founded by Shivam Hingorani, Ace Blend develops plant-based formulations, including protein supplements, probiotics, coffee, and other nutrition products.
The company has so far raised $3.3 million, and expects to secure an additional $5.7 million in funding.
