
New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Kotak Alternate Asset Managers (Kotak Alts) has appointed former ValueQuest executive Pushkar Jauhari as the chief executive officer of its private equity and venture capital business.
Prior to this, Jauhari served as the managing director and private equity head at ValueQuest Investment Advisors. Earlier, he held investment and leadership roles at Oman India Joint Investment Fund, Khazanah Nasional and TVS Capital Funds. He has also worked with global firms Fidelity Investments International and McKinsey & Company.
Over the course of his career, Jauhari has been involved in over 25 private equity, M&A and public equity investments worth over $900 million. His experience covers fundraising, investment selection, working with portfolio companies and exits. He has also held over 10 board positions at various organisations, according to a press note.
"He (Jauhari) has built a private equity business and worked across every stage of investing. His track record will be valuable as we grow the platform," Srini Sriniwasan, managing director, Kotak Alts, said in the note.
Kotak Alts is a part of Kotak Mahindra Group, and focuses on alternate asset management and investment advisory businesses. The firm has raised, managed, and advised over $22 billion across different asset classes, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, special Situations, private credit, and investment advisory.
Recently, Kotak Alts raised $1 billion for its maiden special situations fund and $1.5 billion for the second fund. It also elevated partners Rahul Shah and Rahul Chhaparwal as managing partners.
