New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- Goldman Sachs has appointed senior executive Chandresh Chheda as managing director and co-head of investment banking in India.

In his new role, Chheda will work with India investment banking co-head Dev Nambakam and the leadership teams in India and the Asia-Pacific region to grow the franchise, the company said in a note.

Chheda brings over two decades of investment banking experience. Most recently, he was a managing director at JPMorgan, where he covered the new-age technology sector.

Prior to that, he spent a decade in New York covering the industrial sector at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan.

Goldman Sachs offers various services like investment banking, transaction banking, asset management, and private wealth management. Since 2023, it has helped issuers raise over $20 billion in India's equity markets. The company has also facilitated IPO deals for companies like Manipal Hospitals and HDB Financial Services.

In the first half of 2026, Goldman Sachs managed over $1 trillion worth of announced mergers and acquisitions, marking a record pace for any investment bank in a half-year period.

Further, the company was the exclusive financial advisor to the Mittal family on its acquisition of the Rajasthan Royals and related overseas franchises, and advised Organon on its $11.75-billion sale to Sun Pharmaceuticals, India's biggest pharma deal and the largest outbound pharmaceutical acquisition by an Indian company.
